What, Who, When ? - Hotel Notel

What :

Hotel Notel is a collaborative art project embracing sexuality as creative human language.

We take inspiration from the fetish world & create a glamorous nightlife world designed to deconstruct shame through hospitality & artistry.

Who :

Hotel Notel's creator - Pinkie - was inspired to create a theme camp bringing twenty years of experience in nightlife & lifestyle events into the principles of Burning Man.

The Hotel came to life once Pinkie's inspiration collided with his partners art & passion for the fetish world. Their combine creative direction created something entirely new.

They debuted the Hotel at their home regional burn - Interfuse - in the Summer of 2024 with the help of two special friends - Goth lifestyle DJ Sarah, who has been to every Hotel Notel event since it's debut, & the incredible shibari artist/longtime burner - OZ

We got Hotel Notel on it's feet through the hard work of incredible creative friends.

One year later, the Hotel found it's most special friend & official head matinance-man, Leo. Veteran burner & longtime camp hero - Leo - is our Viking King co-lead & backbone of Hotel Notel.

Two Years & Nine Burns later, the Hotel family has grown to include some of the most incredible artists & unique individuals we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. We couldn't be more grateful for everyone who visits & stays with the Hotel.

As of 2026 - Hotel Notel attends three regional burns, LoveBurn in February, Interfuse in May, & Lakes of Fire in July. We help host our home regional burn fundraiser - Ignition - in January.

The spirit of Hotel Notel is active 365 days a year. We take Hotel Notel where it can inspire & create community.

All year long our artists are working different events, & often Hotel Notel's leads throw fundraisers, festivals, takeovers & house parties to support our art & create community. We would love to see you there ! Check For Events

Campers are asked to collaborate & interact with the Hotel where it brings them joy !

While camping with us, take on roles in the Hotel you're passionate about & collaborate on creating new ones ! We are here to support the art & expression of our friends.

Camp Meetings :

Camp Zoom meetings are hosted every two weeks leading up to Hotel Notel events.

Zoom links - Will be posted on the Camp Discord the day of the meeting.

Meetings allow us to prep, collaborate, & plan for each event. They are opportunities for campers to ask questions, propose new ideas, & source any resources they need for a successful burn !

Attending all camp meetings is recommended but not mandatory.

We would love to see our campers in at least one Zoom meeting pre-event.

We would LOVE to see ALL campers at the final meeting - to ensure everyone camping with Hotel Notel has what they need & is prepared for an incredible stay!

Camp Volunteer Shifts :

General Campers -

• Campers attending an event from gate open to gate close are asked to donate four hours of volunteer time.

• This includes two hours during an event & two hours at the end of the event to help with camp breakdown.

• Two hour Hotel Notel event shift can include -

  • DMing - Bartending - Lobby DJing

  • Joining Room Service "turn down" for the Hotel Dungeon

  • Assisting Kitchen Team with meal prep & clean up

Build Team & WAPS -

• Hotel Notel as a camp provides limited WAPs for Build Team before events.

Event Leads -

• Event Lead Roles are open to all

• Event Leads take on special roles with creative control over event areas, like -

  • Hotel Sound - Performances - Dungeon - Kitchen & Meal Plans

• Many roles are available & we are open to new roles that allow our campers to shine ! Learn More :

As of 2026, Hotel Notel wants to honor the campers that take on extra roles for the hotel. On top of whatever extra support & benefits we can provide our leads, we want to present every event lead with their own personal wax play saint candle & saint spot on our Hotel Notel wax play alter.

Flapjacks & Flogging -

• Flapjacks & Flogging is our one all hands on deck camp event !

• We want every Hotel Notel camper to be a part of our opening party continental breakfast extravaganza - regardless of if they're a General Camper, Part of Build Team, or an Event Lead

• We have many stations for campers to be a part of & we always welcome new station ideas. We want every camper to express themselves & HAVE FUN!

Camp Dues :

To help us support campers & bring Hotel events to life, we ask campers for dues.

Camp dues vary by event - With the varying costs of event location & demands. Spending of Camp Dues is 100% transparent - Laid out in the Camp Spreadsheet.

We welcome collaboration & critique of the Hotel Notel budget & spending !

Dues typically cover - Gas, propane, maintenance, & the fabulous Hotel meal plan. Dues do not cover - Hotel expansion, art, decor or infrastructure.

Camp Work Days :

Before any event - Build days & packing days will be hosted at the Hotel Notel home base in Kansas City. Campers are not required to attend but are welcome.

Our space is open to our friends & fellow artists for collaboration & support building their projects as well as Hotel Notel projects.

We host on a property that allows us to spread out & get creative !

With Us to plan a work day!

Rules are posted at the Hotel entrance, Hotel lobby, & inside the Hotel dungeon.

Our rules :

• Encourage guests to give scenes & active play space.

• Ask guests to refrain from taking photos without a DM or Hotel Night Manager

• Alert Voyers to locate our designated Voyer Areas

  • Only active scenes are allowed inside the main dungeon to keep equipment open & give guests adequate personal space

Posted rules also remind our Hotel Guests about consent aware play etiquette.

Dungeon Monitors (DMs) are often available in our dungeon during open play hours

DMs are identified by glowing red vests

Hotel Notel DMs & are here to go over dungeon rules, provide demos, keep the dungeon active & create a positive guest experiences

Our dungeon is designed to be welcoming, high energy, & inviting for all. Our space relies on the values of Civic Responsibility, Communal Effort & Radical Self Reliance to work.

It's important to note that Hotel DMs are NOT relied on for dungeon safety.

• Our DMs, when active, can be a first point of contact in helping individuals get to Camp Leads, Rangers, Medics, or Sanctuary.

• If no DMs are in our dungeon - please locate a hotel camper (likely found at the hotel bar, kitchen or backstage)

• Our Hotel Campers can point out the Night Management Team - our experienced Hotel Notel campers & burners able to address Hotel or dungeon related issues.

Our Hotel Notel creator & lead, Pinkie, is the Red Light Zhar of our home burn & (along with his partner Angel) has several combine decades of experience in 18+ spaces & events.

We are always striving to collaborate with the community on consent, safety, & the concerns of families attending events where Hotel Notel is present.

We care about all, prioritize hospitality & welcome every discussion.
